Clay Face + Stamp-Unit 1
Reflection- First, I used a slab roller to flatten a piece of clay. Then, I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to make the shape of the character. Lastly, I scored and slipped all of the different facial features onto the sculpture. I would go back and make the lines sharper with the glaze if I could.
Pinch Pot cut in half/made into something useful-Unit 2
First, I wedged the clay and made a ball. Then, I made a hole with my thumb and started evening it out. To fix it, I think I could have spaced out the clay more evenly so that there's not too much clay on the bottom. I also would have made the outside smoother.
Double Pinch Pot-Unit 2
I did the same process before but I made 2 of them. Then, I scored and slipped them together. I made the triangles for the stem of the pineapple, put them together, and scored and slipped them on. If I could change anything, I would even out the body of the pineapple and change the shape of the leaves.
Relief Tile + Small Sculpture-Unit 2
Historically inspired piece-Unit 2
Pendent-Unit 1
Coil Pot-Unit 3
If I could change anything, I would make the details more precise so that it is easier to figure out what I created.
I chose to base this off of Starry Night by Van Gough, if I could change it, I would make it more accurate.
I would change the shape that I made the heart, make it more evern, and glaze the piece (I didn't have enough time).
I used a slab roller for the bottom of the pot. Everything else is from rolled out clay that I scored and slipped to stick. I would make the pot smaller so that there's not as much weight on the bottom.
Slab Slump Mold-Unit 3
First, I found a shape that I wanted to use and put paper over it so that the clay doesn't stick. After, I put the Clay into the mold and once it dried I under-glazed it. If I could change anything, I would make the dip in the shape bigger so that I could use it as a plate.
Slab structure-darts+sgrafitto-Unit 3
First, I rolled out a piece of clay on the slab roller. Then, I made a funnel with the clay and blended it together. I then cut slits to make the darts and then attached the foot. Lastly, I carved the scrafitto design in. I would under-glaze and then carve the design in if I could.
